How to get to Makuzi:
Makuzi Beach Lodge is 370km from Lilongwe, 100km from Mzuzu and 280km from Salima. We have a large sign directly opposite our dirt road turn-off - it is cream with a painted dhow (local sailboat) on the top.
If coming from the Mzuzu side, travel towards Nkhata Bay. When you reach the junction which allows you to go straight to Nkhata Bay, turn right onto the lakeshore road (M5) and travel 50km, past Chintheche, until you cross the Kapeska bridge. You will then see the Makuzi Beach dirt road turn-off about 300m further on. Travel approximately 3km all the way down to our beach.
From Lilongwe or the south of Malawi, make your way to Salima and at the police roadblock, turn onto the lakeshore road (M5) and drive approximately 280km to get to the Makuzi Beach turn-off. You will go past Kande Beach (big sign on the lakeshore side) and from there it is approximately 7km to the Makuzi Beach turn-off on the right. Travel approximately 3km all the way down to our beach.
